Build a fleet tracking app — real-time GPS tracking and fleet management dashboard.

Fleet operators need to see where every vehicle is, where it's been, and what's happening. Custom fleet tracking gives you the specific data, alerts, and integrations your operations need — not a generic telematics platform.

The problem
Fleet operator, logistics company, or service business with 10+ vehicles that needs custom GPS tracking with the specific alerts, reports, and integrations their operation requires

Generic telematics platforms (Samsara, Verizon Connect, Fleet Complete) offer standard GPS tracking. They don't integrate with your specific dispatch system, billing platform, or operations workflow.

Fleet tracking architecture:

GPS hardware: Teltonika, CalAmp, or Samsara vehicle trackers. The tracker sends location, speed, ignition status, and vehicle diagnostics via cellular. Most modern trackers support MQTT or REST API webhooks.

Data ingestion: Tracker sends location updates every 30-60 seconds while moving. High-frequency GPS data requires efficient ingestion (TimescaleDB for time-series GPS data, or InfluxDB).

Real-time map: Mapbox with vehicle markers. Vehicle positions updated via WebSocket. Map shows current position, speed, direction.

Geofences: Define geographic boundaries. Alert when a vehicle enters or exits. Use cases: unauthorized after-hours use, customer site arrival/departure, restricted zones.

Driver behavior: Hard braking (deceleration > threshold from accelerometer), rapid acceleration, speeding (vehicle speed > speed limit from HERE Maps road speed data).

Process

Three steps, every time.

The same repeatable engagement on every project. No surprises, no mystery, no billable ambiguity.

01Week 0

Brief & discovery.

We send you questions, then get on a call. Output: a written scope with every step, feature, and integration listed.

02Weeks 1–N

Build & ship.

Fixed schedule, weekly reviews. No scope creep unless you change the scope — and if you do, we reprice it transparently.

03Post-launch

Warranty & retainer.

30-day warranty on every launch. Most clients stay on a monthly retainer for ongoing features and maintenance.

Why fixed-price

Why Fixed-Price Matters Here

Fleet tracking applications have defined GPS ingestion, map, and alert patterns. Fixed-price from the spec.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Teltonika for most applications — wide model range, solid API, global coverage. Samsara for companies wanting an integrated hardware + platform with pre-built telematics (and willing to pay a premium). Traccar (open-source GPS server) supports 200+ device brands if you want device flexibility.

WEX, Comdata, and FleetCor APIs for fuel transaction data. Fuel cost per vehicle matched to GPS activity. Fuel card integration is an add-on to the base fleet tracking scope.
