A construction project dashboard that shows job cost, schedule, and cash flow without a Friday afternoon data pull.

We build project operations dashboards for construction companies — job cost variance views, schedule progress tracking, subcontractor payment status, equipment utilisation, and the financial project roll-up that tells you where every job stands against budget. Fixed scope, fixed price.

The problem
Your project manager has the schedule in Procore. Your accountant has job costs in Sage. You have neither in one place, and reconciling them requires a meeting that takes longer than the project update itself.

Construction companies operate at a specific financial risk: cost overruns are discovered after they've already happened. The job cost report in the accounting system shows you what's been spent — it doesn't show you what's committed but not yet invoiced (pending subcontractor invoices, material POs in transit), and it doesn't show you the estimated cost to complete each item still in progress. The actual financial position of a job at any point in time requires combining the accounting data with the PM's estimate-to-complete — and that combination typically happens once a month in a job cost meeting, not continuously as costs accumulate.

Procore and Buildertrend have project management data that's more current than the accounting system — they have committed costs from executed subcontracts and purchase orders, and they have cost projections from the PM. But the accounting system has actual invoiced and paid costs. Neither system alone gives a complete picture; combining them does.

The pattern we see in construction businesses is that project managers don't see the financial data frequently enough to course-correct, and financial managers don't see the project data frequently enough to flag financial risks early. A dashboard that brings both views together for both audiences changes the information flow — the PM sees their job cost position every morning without asking accounting, and the CFO sees schedule risk and cost overrun flags without waiting for the month-end job cost meeting.

What we build

A construction operations dashboard with live job cost tracking, schedule milestone status, subcontractor payment visibility, and a financial roll-up across all active projects — without extracting data from two systems and reconciling it manually.

Job cost variance tracking

Original budget vs. current budget (approved change orders) vs. actual cost to date vs. estimated cost to complete, per cost code. Variance flagged when actual + ETC exceeds current budget. View per job and roll-up across all active projects.

Schedule milestone dashboard

Active project phase and milestone status across all jobs — on schedule, behind, ahead. Critical path milestones highlighted. Days ahead or behind per milestone. Flags for projects with schedule risk based on milestone completion rate.

Subcontractor payment and compliance status

Subcontract value, approved change orders, invoiced to date, and remaining contract value per subcontractor per job. Lien waiver status (conditional, unconditional) per payment milestone. Insurance certificate expiration dates.

Cash flow projection

Receivables: owner contract value, billed to date, collected to date, and outstanding AR by job. Payables: approved subcontractor invoices not yet paid, committed material POs expected this month. Net projected cash position for the next 30/60/90 days.

Equipment utilisation

For companies with owned equipment: equipment hours charged to each job vs. total available hours. Equipment utilisation rate by asset. Idle equipment flags and maintenance schedule visibility. Built on Next.js, Recharts, Postgres, Procore REST API, and Sage 300/QuickBooks integrations.

Warranty & retainer.

30-day warranty on every launch. Most clients stay on a monthly retainer for ongoing features and maintenance.

Why fixed-price

Why Fixed-Price Matters Here

Construction company owners and CFOs make financial decisions at defined project milestones. A dashboard investment with a defined cost and a defined delivery timeline is a decision that fits naturally into the planning rhythm of a construction business. Fixed scope, fixed price.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

No — the dashboard reads from your existing systems as they are. If cost codes are inconsistent between systems, we work with your team during setup to establish a mapping between systems. Changes to how data is entered in either system are not required.

ETC entry is the one data input the dashboard requires from project managers. We build a simple ETC input interface (either within the dashboard or as a Procore field) that PMs update weekly. The dashboard uses this to calculate the job's current financial position. Weekly ETC updates take 5–10 minutes per job.

The subcontractor payment view shows all subs on each project with their contract value, billing, and compliance status. For GC operations, the job cost view shows all cost categories (labour, material, sub, equipment) together. Both views coexist in the same project record.

Job cost variance tracking, schedule milestone dashboard, and cash flow projection typically runs $30k–$60k. Procore + accounting system integration add scope if not already built. Fixed-price.

8 to 12 weeks for a production construction operations dashboard with job cost and schedule visibility.
